Holbeche Place
Holbeche Place - a new identity
The approved Masterplan is a new chapter in Solihull town centre’s history.
It will replace the 1960s development with a high-quality, modern destination that caters for all ages. The new neighbourhood will deliver much-needed homes alongside vibrant retail and leisure spaces, while retaining and enhancing green spaces at the heart of the town centre.
Why Holbeche Place?
Following thorough research into the history of Solihull and detailed discussions with Solihull Council, the redevelopment of Solihull Town Centre will be delivered under a new name – Holbeche Place (pronounced ‘Hol-Beach’).
The new identity draws on Solihull’s historical roots, referencing the Holbeche family who helped shape the early fabric of Solihull. They were the first family to live at Touchwood Hall which stood on Drury Lane for over 250 years.
The name has been chosen to connect the redevelopment with the people who lived, worked, and shaped Solihull throughout the centuries.
